Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer hires Vijay Chaudhuri as new chief of staff

Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer has hired Vijay Chaudhuri, a Hoboken resident who recently worked as the Director of Community Relations for U.S. Rep. Joseph Crowley (D-NY, D-14), as her new chief of staff.

“I look forward to working closely with Mr. Chaudhuri in the years ahead to make Hoboken an even greater place to live and work,” Zimmer said in a statement. “His experience and knowledge of Hoboken will be a tremendous asset as we bring many exciting projects for our community to fruition.”

Chaudhuri also expressed his excitement about the new opportunity.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity to join this administration and serve the people of Hoboken,” Chaudhuri said in an e-mail.

“I look forward to working with Mayor Zimmer as we continue to address the issues that matter most to our community.”

Chaudhuri replaces Daniel Bryan, who left the chief of staff position after over five years to join high-powered Hackensack public relations firm Beckerman Public Relations.
