“During Pride Month, it is important to celebrate the great progress that has been made while also commemorating those who fought against the injustices impacting the LGBTQ community. Though there is still much work to be done, we must continue to push forward to reach true equality,” the Town of West New York wrote on social media.

“On behalf of Mayor Gabriel Rodriguez and the Board of Commissioners, we are proud to raise the pride flag in West New York. The fight is still not over, but we must remember that love will win.”

Representatives from the Hudson Pride Center and the Weehawken American Legion also participated in the flag raising, with HPC posting a video on their Instagram page.
