Plaza, who has worked for the town since 2014 outside of a brief stint at the Borough of Tenafly in 2019, has been the deputy clerk since July 2019.

She was appointed the municipal clerk at this evening’s meeting by a unanimous vote (5-0).

She take over for Riccie, who had served as clerk towards the end of the Anthony DeFino administration (which spanned from 1971 to 1995) and managed to last through four other mayors due to her laser-like precision when it came to municipal code.

Plaza is joined in the clerk’s office by Joseph Roque, the son of former Mayor Felix Roque, Gabriela Reynoso, and Tyara Conil.

  1. Well it appears that the Health Dept that works in West New York can’t do their jobs. I contacted them several times for a week about no heat in my moms apt or change the radiators that have been their for 50 years , but no one cares. The owner strings them along and makes no corrections. If you don’t want to go your job quit !!!! I’m sure you got heat tonight!!
