UPDATED: Union City police seeking public’s help to locate man with Alzheimer’s disease

The Union City Police Department announced around 8 a.m. this morning that Rodriguez had been found safely.

The Union City Police Department is seeking the public’s help to locate a missing man who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease.

Rudiard “Rudy” Rodriguez, 63, of Union City, went missing after being seen in the area of 2200 John F. Kennedy Blvd. earlier this evening, the UCPD wrote on their Facebook page.

At the time of his disappearance, Rodriguez was wearing a grey, short-sleeve button down shirt with polka dots, black pants, a brown belt, black socks and black shoes, authorities said.

He also suffers from a number of medical ailments including Alzheimer’s disease, high blood pressure, anxiety and a tendency to faint, police said.

Two possible destinations for Rodriguez are Journal Square in Jersey City or New York City, officials said.
