“Hello everyone my name is Veronica Rodriguez. I am looking for help and support in providing for little Eddies funeral. Today a fire began on 14th street and summit ave in union city NJ. That fire happen to take my great nephews life,” the GoFundMe page says.
“This month he would have been turning 2. He was such an intelligent little boy who loved his sisters. I’m hoping you all can help in providing for his funeral anything counts. Thank you all in advance. God bless and remember tell your loved ones everyday how much they mean to you life is too short.”
Rodriguez added that the money will go towards getting the family new belongings since everything was lost in the fire.
The campaign, which was started just three hours ago, is already more than halfway towards its goal: raising $5,161 of their targeted $10,000.
Eddie’s father was badly injured in the fire as he attempted to save his young son, who perished in the blaze.
John, thank you for reporting on such a horrific incident. Your post has reached well over 16,000 viewers in just one day. Donations made through your site to the gofundme page will help alleviate the financial burdens this family will face in the future. I congratulate you and your staff for a job well done. Hudson County View is truly the eye of the community!
No problem, happy to see the GoFundMe page has shattered their projected goal in just one day.
Why should we help pay for lost belongings, when the father was the animal who started the blaze that killed this precious young boy? I hope his father rots in jail. Why not spend the money raised to help the innocent neighbors affected by the arson started by this POS?
