The Union City COVID-19 vaccination clinic will be closed on Saturdays after winter weather has caused delays in the deliveries of dosages.

“Due to the inclement weather throughout the United States, vaccine shipments have been delayed and the clinic has to close. This is a national problem. We are working with the NJ Department of Health and the CDC to get our shipment and get appointments rescheduled as soon as possible,” the city said in a notice released today.

“If you had an appointment scheduled for Saturday, you should have received a call to reschedule. If not, please call 201-348-5747 (Mon-Sat from 8 AM To 4 PM).”

The notice also says that vaccination cards list the date for your second dose of the vaccine, but that is only the eligibility date and the health department will call to schedule an appointments – which can be up to six weeks after receiving their first shot.

Union City has been utilizing the North Hudson Community Action Corporation, located at 714 31st St., as their vaccination clinic.
