Morejon, a former deputy attorney general and municipal prosecutor, had friends and family join him on the second floor of the Brennan Court House in Jersey City where Hudson County Superior Court Judge Joseph Turula held the ceremony.

An attorney for 30 years, Morejon thanked everyone who supported him along the way and ultimately helped him reach the bench.

“It is not lost on me that I stand on the shoulders of all who have come before me and have made today possible. This is not a celebration of me, as much as I want to say thank you again to all of you for helping me along my 56 years of life and 30 years as an attorney,” he said during a short public speech.

Morejon was joined by his wife Diana and his daughters Amanda and Alicia, and about two dozen other friends and family members.
