The closure hearing was initially set for April 15th at Jersey City’s Dickinson High School, due to a successful last-minute court injunction by Hudson Regional Health, the hospital operator.

While the formal hearing was cancelled over a technicality since HUH withdrew their CN, local and state electeds held an impromptu town hall where residents expressed their frustrations over the closure, which many characterized as “illegal.”

In June, Hudson County Superior Court Assignment Judge Brian Katz vacated the temporary restraining order in the matter, before throwing out the entire case last month, as HCV first reported. though the Heights hospital land owner, Avery Eisenreich, has vowed to appeal.
