Eladio Ortiz had been reported missing on February 3rd and the North Bergen Police Department said in social media posts on February 10th that they were seeking the public’s help in locating him.

Today, around 4:30 p.m. at the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail station in North Bergen on 51st Street and Tonnelle Avenue, a heavy police presence had taped off a crime scene due to an ongoing investigation, photos and videos from the scene show.

Sources with knowledge of the investigation, who spoke under the condition of anonymity, confirmed that Ortiz’s had been found dead and that location and his death was being treated as a suicide.

No further information was immediately available about his whereabouts and/or how he ended up at the light rail station.

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office deferred comment to the NBPD, who did not immediately return inquiries seeking comment.
