U.S. Rep. Albio Sires (D-8) is praising President Joe Biden’s (D) vaccination plan, which seeks to vaccinate 100 million Americans in 100 day, and proposed $400 million response, taking a parting shot at former President Donald Trump (R) in the process.

“It is nearly unfathomable that as he left office, 10 months into the pandemic, former President Trump’s administration did not have a cohesive, workable vaccination plan to pass on to President Biden and his team,” Sires said in a statement.

” … President Biden has made implementing a national pandemic strategy, including vaccine distribution, the first priority of his administration. Included in his strategy is accelerating vaccinations by strengthening the allocation and distribution process to states, expanding access to frontline workers and high-risk populations, and improving vaccine accessibility … ”

This morning, Biden signed 10 executive orders related to the current public health emergency.

Beyond his ambitious vaccination plan, the new president is asking for $400 million to go towards a national pandemic response, which would be a portion of a massive $1.9 trillion stimulus package.

“What we’re inheriting is so much worse than we could have imagined,” Jeff Zients, Biden’s Covid-19 coordinator, said on a media call this morning, per NBC News.
