Secaucus police arrest two from Paterson for stealing $1,100 electric dirt bike & gas

The Secaucus Police Department arrested two people from Paterson for stealing a $1,100 electric dirt bike and gasoline in town last week, Chief Dennis Miller said.

On June 21st at approximately 3:42 p.m. during a motor vehicle stop, the Secaucus PD arrested Kiyaun Hansford, 24, of Paterson, for receiving stolen property (license plate) and hindering apprehension for providing false information to the police, Miller said in a statement.

He was also found to have one outstanding $1,000 warrant issued out of Clifton, one outstanding $750 warrant issued out of Paterson, one for the same amount in Haldeon, and one $650 outstanding warrant issued out of Allamuchy.

Hansford was additionally charged with theft in regards to a theft of an electric dirt bike that occurred on June 19th in the area of Mainsail Lane.

The police also arrested Anyssa Carmona, 23, of Paterson, for receiving stolen property (license plate) and theft of services for stealing gas from Fuel 4 located at 445 Route 3 East on June 20th.

During this incident, it was found that she did not pay for the fuel she received for her vehicle.

Hansford was issued two complaint warrants along with four motor vehicle summonses and he was subsequently transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.

As for, Carmona she was issued two complaint summonses, along with eight, motor vehicle summonses, and she was released from police custody, authorities said.

The first incident was on Mainsail Lane where an electric dirt bike was stolen and a description of the suspect vehicle was ascertained. The next incident was a theft of gasoline with the suspect vehicle at the Fuel 4 Gas Station, which then fled the scene.

The plate was ascertained, but did not come back to the vehicle and the plate was subsequently reported stolen.

On the date of the arrest, Police Officer Robert Schaffer was probing random license plates when he discovered the plate on the Cadillac was reported stolen, Miller told HCV.

Evidence was obtained to charge Carmona with the aforementioned theft of gas. Further investigation revealed that Hansford, who was delivering for Walmart, stole the dirt bike from Mainsail lane, which was valued at $1,100.
