CarePoint Health celebrated cancer survivors and caretakers at their 6th annual “Colors of Courage” event at the Bayonne Medical Center yesterday.

The Colors of Courage event brought together cancer survivors, their caretakers, local elected officials, and medical professionals from all three CarePoint Health hospitals.The gathering provided a platform for survivors to share their stories of resilience and strength, while recognizing the crucial role played by caretakers in their journey towards recovery.
“We are proud to host the Colors of Courage event for the sixth consecutive year,” CarePoint Health President and CEO Dr. Achintya Moulick said in a statement.
“This event not only celebrates the lives of cancer survivors but also acknowledges the tireless efforts of caretakers who provide unwavering support throughout the treatment process.”
The event featured a panel of esteemed doctors and specialists who answered questions about cancer treatments and life during remission.
Attendees had the opportunity to engage with these experts, gaining valuable insights and information to help them navigate their own cancer journeys.
“Cancer affects millions of lives, and it is crucial to provide a platform where survivors and caretakers can come together, share their experiences, and find solace in a supportive community,” added CarePoint Health System Director of Cancer Services Uzma Rizwan.
“The Colors of Courage event serves as a beacon of hope, reminding everyone that they are not alone in their fight against cancer.”
CarePoint Health is a Commission on Cancer accredited hospital, a prestigious recognition that the American College of Surgeons gives out to hospitals that meet 34 quality care standards that are re-evaluated every three years.
“CarePoint Health remains committed to supporting cancer survivors and their caretakers through comprehensive healthcare services and ongoing community initiatives,” noted CarePoint Health Chief of Staff and Vice President of Marketing, Strategy and Patient Experience Justin Drew.
“The Colors of Courage event is just one example of the organization’s dedication to raising awareness and inspiring hope among those affected by cancer.”
Bayonne 1st Ward Councilman Neil Carroll, as well as Councilmen at-Large Lloyad Booker and Juan Perez were among those in attendance.
