The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office is seeking “a person of interest” in connection to “a suspicious death in West New York” discovered last night.

At approximately 6:30 p.m. last, West New York Police Officers were dispatched to 5608 Palisade Ave. in West New York after receiving a call from a building superintendent, Prosecutor Esther Suarez said in a statement.
The superintendent reported that he noticed something suspicious and then found a dead male in an apartment.
Upon arrival, officers found the body of an individual identified as Randall Goya, 57, of West New York. He was pronounced dead at scene at approximately 7:15 p.m. He resided in the apartment where he was found dead, officials said.
The cause and manner of death are pending determination by the New Jersey Northern Regional Medical Examiner’s Office and the incident being treated as suspicious, authorities said.
The Prosecutor’s Homicide Unit is actively investigating the case. Homicide detectives are looking for a person of interest in connection with the suspicious death.

As Hudson County View reported early this morning, the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit also responded to the scene and a source said Goya was believed to have been deceased since Tuesday.
