Prosecutor’s office identifies two women found dead in the Hudson River in the past month

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office has identified the two women that were found dead in the Hudson River in the past month, with their causes and manner of death still under investigation.

“The HCPO Homicide Unit has identified the body found on Oct. 1 in the Hudson River in #Hoboken as Debra King, age 62, of Bronx, NY. The exact cause & manner of death are pending the ME. At this stage of the investigation, there is no perceived threat to the public. @KenFerrante,” the HCPO tweeted minutes ago.

King’s body was found in the Hudson River near the Lackawana Terminal in Hoboken and authorities asked for the public’s help to identify her about two weeks later.

“The HCPO Homicide Unit has identified the body found on 11/5 in the Hudson River in #JerseyCity as Delali Amenyedo, age 21, of Newark. The exact cause & manner of death are pending the ME. At this stage of the investigation, there is no perceived threat to the public,” the HCPO tweeted about an hour ago.

Earlier this month, officials said that they recovered a “badly decomposed” body floating in the Hudson River near the Newport Marina in Downtown Jersey City.

The cause and manner of their deaths are pending the findings of the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.
