Jason Flores, 37, of West New York, is charged with knowingly leaving the scene of a motor vehicle collision and endangering an injured person, Suarez said in a statement.

He was arrested at the Hudson County Correctional Facility, where he was being detained on an unrelated matter, on Friday.

On Wednesday, December 14th, at approximately 12:20 p.m., the West New York Police Department was notified of an electric bicyclist struck in the area of 50th Street and Bergenline Avenue.

Responding officers located a 33-year-old North Bergen woman with serious injuries. She was transported to Jersey City Medical Center where she was treated for injuries that were not considered life threatening.

The striking vehicle, later identified as an Acura MDX operated by Flores, did not remain at the scene, authorities said.
