Yesterday, members of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force arrested Felix Martinez, 45, of Union City, on charges that he possessed more than 1,000 images of child pornography on his cell phone, Suarez said in a statement.

Martinez has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child for possession of child
pornography, a second-degree crime. Martinez was arrested at his home just before 9:00 a.m. Monday after a court-authorized search warrant for the residence was executed.

The arrest followed an investigation by the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit following cyber tips and information received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Suarez credited the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and the HCPO’s Special Victims Unit for the investigation and arrest.

Anyone wishing to report a sex crime should call the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit (SVU) at 201-915-1234.
