Prosecutor: Jersey City man, 35, charged with murder of Greenville man, 56

A 35-year-old Jersey City man has been charged with the murder of a 56-year-old Greenville man who died after sustaining serious injuries last week, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced.

Scott Bradley, 35, of Jersey City, is charged with one count of murder, a first-degree crime. He was arrested in the area of Randolph and Claremont Avenues yesterday and transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility pending his first court appearance.

On Friday, July 25th, shortly after 9 a.m., the Jersey City Police Department was notified of an injured person in the area of Neptune and Garfield Avenues. Responding officers located an unresponsive male, later identified as Joey Richburg, 56, of Jersey City.

He was transported to Jersey City Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at approximately 9:42 a.m.

The Regional Medical Examiner’s Office determined the cause of death to be blunt force injury to the head and the manner of death to be homicide.
