Elijah Lloyd, 18, of Jersey City, has been charged with kidnapping, sexual assault, making terroristic threats, and theft, Suarez said in a statement.

On Wednesday, May 10th, at approximately 8:24 p.m., the Jersey City Police Department received a 911 call reporting a sexual assault.

The 63-year-old victim reported an unknown male entered a business on West Side Avenue – south of Communipaw Avenue – where he robbed and sexually assaulted her.

Suarez credited the HCPO Special Victims Unit and the Jersey City Police Department with the investigation and arrest and multiple units of the HCPO for their assistance in the investigation.

Specifically, she commends Jersey City Police Officers Isaac Holmes and Michael DeBari – both of the Citywide Burglary Unit – for swiftly identifying the defendant during the investigation.

The HCPO SVU and the JCPD continue to actively investigate this case.
