Juan Hernandez and David Abdelnour, both 21 and of Bayonne, were charged with robbery,
possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a firearm, and
conspiracy [to commit robbery], according to Police Capt. Eric Amato.

Hernandez and Abdelnour were taken into custody at 6:59 p.m. from the area of West 49th Street on warrants for their arrests after being identified as actors of an armed robbery reported on Monday, June 14th at 6:59 p.m.

On that date, the 19-year-old male victim reported that he arranged the sale of sneakers with Hernandez (known by the victim) via an online application.

When he responded with his vehicle to the rear lot of 1225 John F. Kennedy Boulevard to meet Hernandez and conduct the transaction, he was approached by Hernandez who entered the victim’s car.

As Hernandez was seated in the front passenger seat, Abdelnour approached the vehicle and pointed a handgun at the victim’s chest as Hernandez removed the sneakers from the rear seat.

Abdelnour then verbally threatened the victim before both actors left the scene, authorities said.
