Prosecutor: Hudson County corrections officer charged with submitting falsified medical records

A Hudson County corrections officer has been charged with submitting falsified medical records to receive additional paid medical leave, Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced.

Marko Nakhla, 34, of Bayonne, is charged with one count of forgery, a fourth-degree crime. He was arrested without incident at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in Jersey City and released on a summons, Suarez said in a statement.

Nakhla is scheduled to make his first court appearance on Wednesday, May 4th.

The investigation revealed Nakhla submitted falsified medical records to his employer to receive additional paid medical leave.

Suarez credited the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Public Integrity Unit with the arrest and investigation.
