A 36-year-old Bayonne man has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl on Monday, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced.

On Monday, members of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit arrested Roberto Ruiz Mota, 36, of Bayonne, on charges that he sexually assaulted a 17- year-old female he interacted with earlier in the day, Suarez said in a statement.
Ruiz Mota has been charged with second-degree sexual assault and third-degree endangering the welfare of a child. He was arrested at his Avenue C residence in Bayonne just after 1:00 p.m. Monday without incident.
Suarez credited the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and
Bayonne Police Department for the investigation and arrest.
A detention hearing for Ruiz Mota is tentatively scheduled for Friday, May 7th.
