A 23-year-old Bayonne man has been charged in a 2023 Jersey City hit-and-run that left a 37-year-old pedestrian with serious injuries, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced.

Adrian Perez, 23, of Bayonne, is charged with knowingly leaving the scene of a motor vehicle collision resulting in serious bodily injury and endangering an injured victim, Suarez said in a statement.
He was arrested at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in Secaucus and released pending his first court appearance. Perez was charged on a direct indictment by a Hudson County Grand Jury.
Shortly after 2:33 p.m. on October 26th, 2023, the Jersey City Police Department was notified of a pedestrian struck in the area of Barbara Place and Grand Street.
Responding officers located a 37- year-old female victim with multiple serious injuries.
The striking vehicle, later identified as a Chevrolet Suburban being operated by Perez, did not remain at the scene, authorities said.
