Shalonda Bullock, 34, of Jersey City, has been charged with one count of insurance fraud, a second-degree crime.
She was arrested at her place of employment yesterday and released on a summons pending her first court appearance. The investigation revealed Bullock submitted multiple fraudulent claims for payment to AFLAC insurance between 2019 and 2021.
The policy was obtained through her employment at the Jersey City Board of Education.
Suarez credited the Insurance Fraud Unit with the investigation and arrest and the investigation is ongoing.
Another Jersey City BOE security guard, Kaquan Vanliew, was charged with insurance fraud by the HCPO last month.
Anyone with additional information is asked to call the Insurance Fraud Unit at 201-795-6000, ext. 6634.
