Police: Mississippi man charged with calling 911 without an emergency in Secaucus

A Mississippi man was charged with calling 911 without an emergency in Secaucus yesterday afternoon, Police Chief Dennis Miller said.

Yesterday at approximately 1:15 p.m., the Secaucus Police Department arrested Cortavious Hampton, 35, of Saltillo, MS for making false public alarms for contacting the Secaucus Police communications via 911 without an emergency, Miller said in a statement.

He was taken into custody in the parking lot of Sam’s Club located at 300 Park Plaza Drive. Hampton was also charged with failure to submit to fingerprinting.

The suspect was issued his complaint warrant and was subsequently transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility, police said.
