At approximately 6:28 a.m. yesterday, a 24-year-old QuickChek employee reported that he was assaulted by three men at their 20 East 53rd St. location, according to Police Capt. Eric Amato.

According to the victim, after directing the vehicle that the three men were inside to a different gas pump, one man exited his vehicle and began assaulting the victim.

The other two joined in shortly thereafter and the trio proceeded to assault the victim with a broom and window squeegee. The assault ceased when other employees responded to the area, prompting the attackers to flee.

While fleeing, they attempted to strike the victim with their vehicle after they stole the victim’s money that had fallen to the ground during the assault.

The incident remains under investigation and the victim reported no injuries and refused medical attention, authorities said.
