Christian Velasquez-Tempple, 52, of Martinsburg, West Virginia, was charged with aggravated assault on Friday, according to Police Capt. Dennis Miller.

On April 21st at about 2:33 p.m., police responded to the Sunoco Gas Station on Route 3 East after a call of an assault, officials said.

The investigation on scene found there had been a dispute on the amount owed on a gas purchase and Velasquez-Tempple punched the gas attendant in the face causing “significant bodily injury” to his nose, authorities said.

As a result, EMS was called to scene and transported the victim to the Meadowlands Hospital. Velasquez-Tempple was then released with a copy of his summons, police said.
