Police: Man arrested for assaulting woman at Secaucus hotel, caught with hunting knife & baton

A man was arrested for assaulting a woman at a Secaucus hotel last week, getting caught with a hunting knife and an extendable metal baton, Police Chief Dennis Miller said.

Adam Delaney, 45, of Hicksville, New York, was charged with simple assault, unlawful possession of a weapon (hunting knife), and possession of a prohibited weapon (expandable metal baton), Miller said in a statement.

On December 30th at 7:56 a.m., Secaucus police responded to the Extended Stay Hotel. located at 1 Meadowlands Parkway, on a report of a dispute in one of the rooms.

Miller told HCV in an email that Delaney went to a room of a person known to him and assaulted her causing some minor injuries.

He was carrying a large hunting knife, which was left at the scene. He fled and was stopped on Plaza Center Road and arrested. Additionally, at time of his arrest, an expandable baton was found in his vehicle.

Delaney was served his complaint summons along with one motor vehicle summons before being released from police custody, authorities said.
