Tianna Johnson, 22, of Jersey City, was charged with aggravated assault on police, defiant trespass, obstructing a governmental function, and resisting arrest, according to Police Capt. Eric Amato.

On Sunday, Johnson was taken into custody at approximately 2:57 p.m. from the area of 33rd Street and Broadway. Officers responded to an area business on a report of a former employee refusing to leave the premises.

As officers entered the establishment, which they did not disclose, they observed Johnson screaming at her former employer.

Officers approached Johnson and escorted her away from her former employer, telling her to exit and that she was not permitted to be on the premises any longer.

As they were exiting the business, Johnson knocked over items that were positioned on the employer’s desk and refused to comply with the officers’ commands to exit the establishment.

Johnson then proceeded to retreat back into the office and position herself in a corner.

While inside, an officer attempted to gather her belongings that she had dropped on the floor and while doing so, Johnson began to punch him, strike him with her knee, and attempt to push past him.

Officers were able to take her to the ground and as they attempted to place her under arrest, she resisted by continually attempting to pull away from their control.

Johnson was ultimately secured in handcuffs and taken into custody without further incident, police said.
