On January 1st, at approximately 3:10 p.m., Hoboken police responded to the area of Willow Avenue and Third Street on reports of a man exposing himself and engaging in a lewd act in front of another individual, the department said in a statement.
Based on a description provided, officers identified the man as Damont Dyer, 45, of Hoboken. He was quickly located on the 300th block of Washington Street and detained. The victim positively identified Dyer as the person involved in the incident.
Dyer was arrested for criminal sexual contact, transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters, and processed before being taken to the Hudson County Correctional Facility in Kearny.
“I commend the swift actions and thorough investigative work of the responding officers,” Hoboken Police Chief Steven Aguiar said in a statement.
“Their professionalism and commitment led to a quick arrest in this case, holding the individual accountable, and demonstrating once again, these types of incidents are taken extremely seriously in Hoboken.”
Dyer was also arrested for criminal sexual contact for exposing himself at Church Square Park in July 2024, as HCV first reported.
