Alnor Hills-Harris, 20, of East Windsor, was charged with motor vehicle theft, according to Police Capt. Eric Amato.

Hills-Harris was taken into custody at 1:23 p.m. on Tuesday from headquarters after being identified as the actor of a motor vehicle theft that occurred on June 4th around 1:10 a.m.

On that date, officers responded to the area of Linden Street and Avenue A on a report of an unoccupied overturned vehicle. According to the 51-year-old victim after returning home from shopping, the keys to the vehicle were accidentally left in the lock of the trunk.

At 1:06 a.m., she heard her vehicle start and an unknown person had driven away with it.

While she was reviewing video from her home CCTV, the vehicle, after being removed from her driveway, can be seen traveling onto Linden Street where it strikes a parked vehicle, causing the stolen vehicle to overturn.

The driver is then seen walking west toward Avenue A. An investigation into the theft led to Hills-Harris being identified as the actor and his subsequent arrest yesterday, authorities said.
