A duo was arrested in Bayonne after stealing a car, breaking into a second one, and leading police officers on a foot pursuit, authorities said.

Kadeem Nelson, 29, and Karon Broddie, 27, both of Bronx, New York, were both charged with burglary, theft, obstruction of a governmental function, resisting arrest, and six counts each of receiving stolen property.
Nelson and Broddie were taken into custody at 6:32 a.m. yesterday from the area of Lord Avenue.
Officers were dispatched to the area of East 4th Street on a report from a victim that he had just observed 2 men, later identified as Nelson and Broddie, enter his parked vehicle.
According to the victim, after he confronted the two men, they told him they were looking for change and fled the area towards Broadway. A description of the actors was broadcast to all available units and a search began.
Shortly after, a second call came into to dispatch reporting that two males had just been observed breaking into another vehicle in the area of Newman Avenue. The actors were later confirmed to be Nelson and Broddie.
Officers in the area conducting the original search for the actors observed Nelson and Broddie in the area of Lord Avenue and ordered them to stop.
The two disregarded the order and fled in separate directions on foot, leading several officers on a foot pursuit through several back yards in the area. Both Nelson and Broddie were ultimately apprehended and taken into custody.
During the search incident to arrest, several items of suspected proceeds were recovered and returned to their respective owners.
While processing the arrests, a call was received at 5:27 p.m. reporting a burglary and theft in the past to a vehicle on West 6th Street.
During that investigation, the actor was positively identified as Broddie and Broddie was additionally charged with this burglary and theft.
