Police: 47-year-old Newark man arrested for assaulting EMS worker in Secaucus

A 47-year-old Newark man was arrested last week for allegedly assaulting an emergency services worker in Secaucus, police said.

Akbar Elston, 47, of Newark, was charged with aggravated assault back on September 26th, according to Police Capt. Dennis Miller.

At 10:22 a.m. on the aforementioned date, Secaucus police responded to a report of an EMS worker that needed assistance on Seaview Drive, authorities said.

After an investigation, Elston was arrested for the assault and was served his complaint before being transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility, officials said.

No information of what triggered or caused the incident was immediately available.
