A 23-year-old Bayonne woman was arrested this morning for allegedly stabbing a man who was sleeping inside a East Grand Street residence, police said.

This morning around 9:15 a.m., Bayonne police officers responded to a home on East Grand Street after receiving a call about a stabbing, according to Police Lt. Eric Amato.
Maya Karkowska, 23, of Bayonne, was charged with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, officials said.
She is accused of stabbing a 22-year-old man while he was asleep.
Police have yet to determine her motive at this time and the victim’s injuries have been deemed non-life threatening.
