Police: 2 Newark women charged with shoplifting $864.51 from Secaucus TJ Maxx

Two Newark woman have been charged with shoplifting $864.51 from the TJ Maxx in Secaucus last week, Police Chief Dennis Miller said.

Kanaya Price-Fillmore, 25, and Tamerra Herd, 36, both of Newark, were both charged with shoplifting and conspiracy to commit shoplifting, Miller said in a statement.

Additionally, Price-Fillmore was charged with hindering apprehension, providing false information the the police, identity theft, being a fugitive from justice, and five outstanding warrants.

According to Miller, the duo was concealing items in shopping bags and were observed by loss prevention. Upon review, the total cost of items pilfered were $864.51.

Both Price-Fillmore and Herd were issued their complaint warrants and were subsequently transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility, authorities said.
