U.S. Rep. Bill Pascrell (D-9) was one of many federal legislators who voted in support of a House resolution supporting the Ukraine earlier today, stating afterwards that “Ukrainians here in New Jersey and across the world must know the United States is with them.”

“When I visited a Ukrainian church in my community last week, the sadness was overwhelming. A woman shared with me that she cries every night because she imagines Russian tanks trampling her parents’ graves. In this dark hour, Ukrainians here in New Jersey and across the world must know the United States is with them,” Pascrell, a member of the bipartisan Congressional Ukraine Caucus, said in a statement.

“I am proud to back this measure as one part of our response to the current crisis … And we will continue to work as one part of an international team in pursuit of peace. The sanctioning measures already imposed by the Biden administration are bringing the Russian economy to its knees and we need to keep pouring it on. Our ally’s protection demands no less.”

House Resolution 956 calls for a cease fire and full withdrawal of Russian troops from their country and passed by a lopsided 426-3 vote.
