In an editorial, Hoboken resident Barry Grossman explains why Dini Ajmani has his vote for mayor, expressing a desire for the Mile Square City to start fresh.

Hoboken needs a mayor who brings a fresh perspective to our mile-square city, with both state and federal expertise. That’s why Dini Ajmani has my vote—and I encourage you to consider her as well.
As a 24-year resident and homeowner, I’ve seen one constant: nonstop development paired with rising taxes. We were told that more rateables would lower or stabilize taxes, yet the conversation always returns to more staffing and additional resources.
Development and infrastructure must go hand in hand. While the NHSA is installing pumps to ease flooding, our aging infrastructure (including water mains) still demands attention. We need solutions that don’t push homeowners out with ever-rising tax bills.
Fiscal responsibility matters. Dini has served at both the state and federal Treasury, giving her rare expertise to guide Hoboken forward. Several mayoral candidates have chaired the council finance committee.
These council members had a key hand in our budgets. Real leadership requires transparency and partnership, not finger-pointing.
When revenues from the parking utility are used or library funds eyed to plug fiscal holes, it’s clear Hoboken faces serious challenges. Our most recent business administrator even warned of steep tax increases ahead.
Hoboken deserves a mayor who understands fiscal accountability, can rein in out-of-control development, and knows how to leverage county and state services.
Dini Ajmani is that leader. She has my vote—and hopefully yours.

Did Dini write this post? Must have since no one else is claiming it! No one else thinks she has the experience needed to fix the mess Hoboken is in thanks to our current mayor
I guess you don’t read the Hoboken sub, lots of commenters there say they like what they her from her. Maybe it’s time to step out of your bubble.
Dini is bright but her solution is to get more money from the Fed and State. That is not a new idea. She also gave thousands to Ravi and his council adherents like Emily Jabbour.
Emily got $500 only last year. So, how do you not know that Ravi with Emily and Joe Quintero was killing Hoboken with ludicrous fat cat spending, high taxes and putting Hoboken into dire financial straits. That’s not new and wasn’t last year.

Not in a bubble! Have done a LOT of research on candidates and why Hoboken is in this mess. Dini doesn’t have what is needed to fix mess caused by current mayor back room deals and favoritism.
“Fiscal responsibility matters. Dini has served at both the state and federal Treasury, giving her rare expertise to guide Hoboken forward. Several mayoral candidates have chaired the council finance committee.”
You’re confused so I fixed it for you:
For the past 8 years, Ravi and EVERY member of the City Council were killing Hoboken with ludicrous spending, high taxes and irresponsible budgeting that have created a fiscal crisis that every one of them of them hid and continues to lie about.
Dini was the only one who genuinely didn’t know and wasn’t complicit.
