A North Bergen teen who survived yesterday’s horrific Edgewater fire insisted on going to school today to keep her perfect attendance record in tact, her teacher told Hudson County View.

Samara Lee, 14, a student at Lincoln Elementary School, jumped off a third story balcony to escape the flames that engulfed the Professional Arts Academy dance studio last night, somehow escaping with minor injuries.

Despite the traumatic experience, the teen never considered staying home today, according to her teacher Nick Sacco, Jr., the son of the state Senator/mayor.

“She is one of the best and most well rounded students that I ever had the pleasure of working with. She not only receives first honors every marking period, but she is also an accomplished singer and dancer,” he said.

“Most importantly, Samara is a good person, and she will be missed after graduation.”
