At around 12:03 p.m. this afternoon, the Bayonne Fire Department responded to 84 Andrew St. on a report of a structure fire. No injuries have been reported at this time and neighboring structures have been evacuated, according to Police Lt. Eric Amato.

He further stated that the fire was upgraded to five alarms “and numerous outside agencies responded for mutual aid.”

Eyewitnesses told HCV that the Jersey City Fire Department and North Hudson Regional Fire & Rescue quickly arrived on the scene.

A space heater has been identified as the possible cause for the fire, but the investigation is ongoing.
