“Albio Sires is among the most dedicated public servants I have ever met and his record of supporting progressive policy solutions and fighting for working families is unparalleled,” Murphy said.

“As a fellow former leader of the State Assembly, I have always known Albio Sires to be a consummate public servant and someone who cares deeply about the people he represents,” added Lt. Governor Oliver, who served with Rep. Sires in the state Assembly from 2004 to 2006.

Menendez, who has known Sires for decades, dating back to when they were the mayors of Union City and West New York, respectively, said he “has always been someone working families can count on.”

Sires is seeking his 9th term in November, but will first have to get past a Hector Oseguera and Will Sheehan in the July 7th primary – which will be mainly contested via vote-by-mail ballots.

“We need Albio Sires working alongside us in Washington to deliver on the promise of standing up for working families and the middle class, and I support him wholeheartedly,” stated Booker.

Sires said he was thankful for the support of the state’s top Democrats, also indicating that this election is an opportunity for Democrats to take a stand against President Donald Trump (R).

“This is a time of unprecedented turmoil and pain in our country, but it’s also a moment when Democrats are poised to stand united in rejecting the failed Trump administration and returning honesty, compassion and competence to the White House.”
