“On behalf of the approximately 900 BLE-T members working and residing in New Jersey, we are proud to officially endorse Representative Robert Menendez’s re-election for U.S. Congress,” BLE-T New Jersey State Legislative Board Chairman Ray Vigil said in a statement.

“Representative Menendez advocates for New Jersey transportation workers and is a true friend to all laborers. He understands the need to protect our members’ interests and collective bargaining rights and will fight to ensure their voices are heard in Congress.”

Menendez, who is seeking his second term against challengers in Hoboken Mayor Ravi Bhalla and Kyle Jasey, was of course happy to accept their support.

“New Jersey’s rail network is relied upon by millions of people throughout our state, our northeast region, and our country. It is crucial to support the dedicated folks who ensure its smooth and safe operation,” Menendez said in a statement.

“Since taking office in January 2023, our efforts have delivered more than $11 billion in federal funding for priorities such as the Gateway Program and our Northeast Corridor, which will modernize our infrastructure and create tens of thousands of good-paying union jobs. I will continue to co-sponsor and introduce legislation that empowers our workers like the PRO Act and the Working Families Task Force Act.”
