Earlier today, Frank Olivero, 26, of Bayonne was arrested by members of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Insurance Fraud Unit following an investigation that determined he submitted a fraudulent insurance claim for a vehicle involved in a crash, according to Prosecutor Esther Suarez.

He is charged with one count of insurance fraud, a third-degree crime. He was arrested at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in Secaucus on May 23rd and released pending his first court appearance.

His first appearance is tentatively scheduled for June 13th in Central Judicial Processing Court.

The investigation determined that Olivero filed a claim with Progressive Insurance Company falsely claiming that the damage sustained by a 2017 Honda Civic occurred while parked in New York City on January 6th when in fact the damage had occurred prior to that date.

Suarez credited members of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Insurance Fraud Unit with the investigation and arrest.
