Dear Editor,

My name is Jeff Welger and I’m a friend of Marla Decker, who is running for the Second Ward City Council seat. I know Marla for several years and we were both board members of the Hudson Tea Condo Association from 2019 – 2021.

At times, the board meetings would get difficult but Marla would always keep her composure and knew how to address and diffuse any situation. She’s level headed and has a voice of reason which are attributes needed to be a city council member.

She’s willing to listen, take the perspective of an opposing view, and puts herself in their shoes. Marla has the experience and knowledge to be our city council person.

A graduate of Cornell University and a law degree from Cardozo School of Law, Marla knows how to think critically and she will work with the Mayor’s administration to achieve results.

Marla is invested in Hoboken’s 2nd Ward and has lived here for 20 years.

She’s involved with the Hudson County Rebuild By Design and regularly attends their planning meetings.

Marla is a great representative of our 2nd Ward and I encourage you to join me in voting for her on Tuesday, November 7th.

Sincerely,

Jeff Welger
Former Board Member of Hudson Tea Condo Association

  1. A candidate running on a platform to stop divisiveness, yet is constantly divisive disparaging, and tone deaf when it comes to renters. Ravi should’ve tried harder to find someone more competent to be his rubber stamp. At the door Marla spoke about BLM , Abortion Rights, and building a new Hoboken High School. I don’t think even she knows what she is running for. Going to stick with Tiff for sure.
