UPDATED: Kearny police seeking public’s help to locate 84-year-old woman with Alzheimer’s


The Kearny Police Department said late this morning that Rosa Silva had been located by the Newark Police Department with the assistance of the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit.

The Kearny Police Department is seeking the public’s help to locate an 84-year-old town resident who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease.

“The Kearny Police Department has just taken a report of a missing 84 year old woman named Rosa Silva. Miss Silva reportedly suffers from early onset Alzheimer’s,” the KPD wrote on their Facebook page at 9:52 a.m.

“She has walked away from her residence in the area or Passaic and Belgrove Drive with an unknown timeframe. Only known possible destination at this time is Newark.”
