Jersey City woman who suffers from schizophrenia & bipolar disorder is missing

A 31-year-old Jersey City woman who suffers from schizophrenia and bipolar disorder has been missing since Saturday morning, the New Jersey State Police announced.

Gemika Gladys Ross was last seen on Saturday around 11 a.m., walking a dog in the area of Baldwin and Beacon Avenues in Jersey City, the NJSP tweeted.

She is described as a Black woman with black hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing a white pajama shirt with unknown designs, black sweatpants, and black sneakers.

“Gemika suffers from bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. It’s believed that Gemika may have traveled to the Paterson, N.J. area. Gemika does not have her medication with her,” the tweet thread also said.

Anyone with any information on Ross’ whereabouts is urged to contact Jersey City Police Det. Heba Alateek at 201-547-5477.

The Jersey City Police Department and the New Jersey State Police Missing Persons and Human Trafficking Unit are assigned to the case.
