Jersey City pedestrian in critical condition after hit-and-run collision

A Jersey City pedestrian is in critical condition after a hit-and-run collision last night.

Yesterday at approximately 7:20 p.m., members of the Jersey City Police Department responded to the area of John F. Kennedy Boulevard near Harrison Avenue on reports of a pedestrian struck with serious injuries, according to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez.

Upon arrival, responding police officers found an 83-year-old Jersey City woman who was struck and seriously injured while crossing John F. Kennedy Boulevard.

The victim was transported to Jersey City Medical Center where she is in critical condition. The driver who struck the woman fled the scene in a red/maroon sedan.

The events surrounding the crash remain under investigation by the Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit with assistance from the Jersey City Police Department.
