On November 21st, Golden Williamson, 33, of Jersey City, pleaded guilty to two counts
of first-degree murder related to the shooting deaths of Kevin Miles on Stuyvesant Avenue in January 2016 and Jersey City storeowner Byunguen Lee in December 2015, Suarez said in a statement.

The state is recommending a sentence of 30 years in New Jersey state prison subject to the No Early Release Act for each of the murders, to be served concurrently. The crime of murder carries a mandatory minimum of 30 years of parole ineligibility.

Williamson also pleaded guilty to aggravated assault in three additional shooting incidents that occurred in Jersey City and Toms River between 2015 and 2016.

For those crimes, the state is recommending a sentence of five years in New Jersey state prison subject to NERA for each of the aggravated assaults.

The State is also recommending that one of the five-year sentences be served consecutively to the murder sentences and the others to be served concurrently.

Based upon the recommendations, Williamson faces 35 years in New Jersey state prison subject to NERA, as well as 10 years of parole supervision following his release from prison.

His co-defendant in the shooting death of Kevin Miles has also entered a guilty plea.

Eric Dawson, 28, of Jersey City, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit murder in connection to the shooting death of Miles.

The state is recommending a sentence of 15 years in New Jersey state prison subject to the No Early Release Act. NERA would require Dawson to serve 85 percent of the recommended 15- year sentence before becoming eligible for parole.

On July 12, 2017, Williamson and Dawson – as well as several additional co-defendants – were charged in a 79-count indictment involving the running of a violent narcotics network that had its origins in Jersey City but extended throughout New Jersey including Monmouth, Ocean and Salem counties.

The investigation was led by the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and Gang Task Force in conjunction with the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit, the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and municipal police departments from Jersey City, Toms River, Wall Township and Tinton Falls.

Sentencing in this case has been scheduled for January 30th, 2020, before Hudson County Superior Court Judge John Young, who accepted the guilty pleas.

The state is represented in this case by Assistant Prosecutor Leo Hernandez and Assistant
Prosecutor Kevin Roe of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit.
