The event is part of their annual effort to recognize National Health Center Week.

“Every year, Metropolitan hosts the annual NHCW celebration for the people of our community. This year’s theme, ‘The Roadmap to a Stronger America,’ spotlights the important role of community health centers in providing quality, comprehensive healthcare services to more than 30 million patients across 14,500 communities annually,” MFHN President and CEO Joan Dublin said in a statement.

“We look forward to welcoming Mayor Fulop, Dr. Raggio-Ashley, and Dr. Haq, and thank our generous donors and partners for consistently helping us meet the health care and the everyday needs of our community.”

Community members will receive educational materials on health and wellness and enjoy snacks and refreshments, entertainment, and more. Free bags of food and FREE gently used clothing for women, children, and men will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), MFHN cares for more than 14,000 children, women, and men in about 44,000 patient visits each year.

According to MFHN, their patients are among the most vulnerable, physically and economically; slightly more than half live at – or below – poverty level guidelines.
