JCBOE Candidate Bertram Okpokwasili thinks public schools going in right direction

1

Jersey City Board of Education candidate Bertram Okpokwasili, an appointed member of the board, sat down with Hudson County View to discuss his candidacy.

A big supporter of Jersey City Schools Superintendent Dr. Marcia Lyles, Okpokwasili talked about what he sees as progress under her administration.

He also spoke about the controversial policy regarding the video recording of public speakers at Jersey City Board of Education meetings.

Finally, Okpokwasili responded to critics who say that his slate, Parents for Excellence, is hostile to traditional public schools, while promising to increase community involvement to deal with “misinformation” if elected.

  1. For an attorney he is sadly ignorant to the facts. You would have thought he would have prepared to sound like he understands the issues. Not surprised, P4Excellence aka P4P isn't selected candidates based on knowledge the selection process is more about keeping in step with the PRIVATIZATION….and SILENCING THE PUBLIC!
