Hudson County Sheriff’s Office swears in 12 new officers to the department

The Hudson County Sheriff’s Office is beefing up their department, swearing in 12 new officers earlier this week.

“Our mission to serve and protect the residents of Hudson County remains at the forefront of our Office,” Sheriff Frank Schillari said in a statement.

“With the the addition of these new Officers we boost up our number to offer better services to those we swore to protect.”

The new officers are Robert Cavanaugh, Nicholas Coviello, Daniel Gerris, Timothy Hurley, Eric Benitez, Gregory Bleich, Zoe Curtis, Kashan Farhat, Kevin Saliba, Justin Laureano, Melissa Moreno and Ryan Rodriguez.

In addition to Schillari, the ceremony included the presence of dignitaries such as Hudson County Executive Tom DeGise, Judge Peter Bariso, Undersheriffs Andrew Conti and Francine Shelton, Detective’s Chief Oliver King, Freeholders Anthony Vainieri (the board chairman, D-8) and Anthony Romano (D-5).
