“The mayors and commissioners know their communities intimately and understand who needs help the most. We appreciate their guidance and support as we work together to make a positive impact during this holiday season,” Sheriff Frank Schillari said in a statement.

“I want to thank Mayor Sacco, the commissioners, and the entire North Bergen community for their support in this endeavor, and wish everyone a happy and healthy holiday season filled with love, laughter, and joy.”

State Senator (D-32)/Mayor Nick Sacco, along with Commissioners Allen Pascual, Hugo Cabrera, Claudia Rodriguez, and Anthony Vainieri, as well as NB C.A.R.E.S. Coordinator Aimee Focaraccio, accepted the gifts on behalf of the township.

Schillari continued donating toys throughout the day on Wednesday, later visiting Mayor Brian Stack’s Civic Association in Union City.

NB C.A.R.E.S. was launched in 2013 to help the victims of fires or other disasters. They are involved in numerous community events and activities throughout the year, providing resources for residents of all ages.

One of the main components of the program is the Emergency Relief Center, which is fully stocked with food, clothing, toiletries, bedding, etc. to assist vulnerable families in emergency situations.

Stocking the center is a collaborative effort between the township, donors, local businesses, and drives.
